MAINTENANCE GUIDE
Although aluminium doors are low maintenance, routine care will help preserve both their performance and appearance. The good news is that no specialist products or complicated techniques are needed, making them simple to look after throughout their lifespan. The same cleaning methods can also be applied to aluminium sliding doors and windows.

Over time, debris can gather in bifold or sliding door tracks, which may affect how smoothly they operate. This is especially common during summer when the doors are used more frequently and the tracks are stepped over regularly. Cleaning the tracks on a regular basis will help keep your doors working at their best. A quick run with a vacuum nozzle along the base of the doors is usually enough to remove any built-up dirt.

When cleaning the frames, begin at the top and work your way down. Aluminium frames require no special cleaning solutions — just warm, soapy water and a soft, non-abrasive cloth such as microfibre. Avoid using scourers or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish. This approach is suitable for bifold doors, sliding doors, and aluminium window frames alike.

The glass panes should be cleaned as often as the other windows in your home to prevent dirt and streaks from accumulating. This ensures you can continue to enjoy the wide, open views aluminium doors and windows provide. For best results, clean the glass on a cloudy day, as direct sunlight can cause the solution to dry too quickly and leave streaks behind.

A thorough clean of the entire unit — including frames and tracks — every couple of months is recommended, with more frequent cleaning during the summer.

With regular care and maintenance, your bifold doors, sliding doors, and windows will continue to operate smoothly and enhance your home for many years to come.
